Assessment of Coilia mystus and C. nasus in the Yangtze River Estuary, China, Using a Length-Based Approach

چکیده

An assessment of the stock status and historical changes in abundance Coilia mystus C. nasus Yangtze River Estuary, China, was carried out based on field surveys conducted 2019–2020 published length-frequency (L/F) data from earlier periods. These two species’ current past relative biomasses (B/BMSY) were estimated using a length-based Bayesian biomass estimation method (LBB). The LLB also their asymptotic lengths (Linf), optimum mean at first capture (Lc; Lopt_c), ratios natural fishing mortality to growth (M/K; F/K). In response increasing pressure, both maximum declined, along with B/BMSY ratio, which declined for 1.7 1982 0.47 2020 2006 (or earlier) 0.17 2020. assessments show that species are overfished, impacted more severely than mystus. prospect recovery these is briefly discussed. This contribution will help toward management population provides basis evaluating effect 10-year ban River.

The Possible Physical Barrier and Coastal Dispersal Strategy for Japanese Grenadier Anchovy, Coilia nasus in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea: Evidence from AFLP Markers

In order to ascertain the taxonomic status of the Ariake Sea population of Japanese grenadier anchovy, Coilia nasus, and assess the contemporary possible genetic barrier between the west and east coastal waters of the East China Sea, we used amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers to detect the genetic structure of C. nasus, in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea. Eighty-one individ...

Distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in sediments from Yellow River Estuary and Yangtze River Estuary, China.

Surface sediment samples collected from twenty-one sites of Yellow River Estuary and Yangtze River Estuary were determined for sixteen priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) by isotope dilution GC-MS method. The total PAH contents varied from 10.8 to 252 ng/g in Yellow River Estuary sediment, and from 84.6 to 620 ng/g in Yangtze River Estuary sediment. The mean total PAH content of Ya...

Riverbed Micromorphology of the Yangtze River Estuary, China

Dunes are present in nearly all fluvial channels and are vital in understanding sediment transport, deposition, and flow conditions during floods of rivers and estuaries. This information is pertinent for helping developing management practices to reduce risks in river transportation and engineering. Although a few recent studies have investigated the micromorphology of a portion of the Yangtze...

Microsatellite DNA diversity of Coilia mystus (Clupeiformes:Engraulidae) in three Chinese estuaries

An analysis of eight microsatellite loci in 90 individuals was performed to define the genetic structure and variability of three estuarine populations of Coilia mystus: 30 individuals each  collected from ChangJiang River (Yangtze River) estuary-CJ, MinJiang River estuary-MJ, and ZhuJiang River (Pearl River) estuary-ZJ. The results showed polymorphic information contents (PIC) of 0.7...
